follow up Saturday

Yesterdays Ideas need to be confirmed.

The Blow-outs will all happen, but the lines are all a bit too high, in the 30's.

Best Plays today.

3*

Arkansas LIttle Rock -12 vs Florida international. Smart money has already moved this line 2 points. Blow out.

UaB +6 vs Kentucky. They will win outright. This line has also moved from +10 in some places.

2.5*
Southern Illinois -5 vs St Louis. Salukis back on track, Billikens are not a good team!

Ohio +19 vs Kansas. Too many Points. It opened at +23 and the wise guys are all over it. Get it quick!

2*
Purdue pick vs Louisville. Cardinals slumping

Ill-Chicago +5 vs Depaul. This means a lot more to the small conference team, and I think Depaul is lousy.

Calm before the Storm

Starting Tomorrow there will be many college hoops games to pick, and B. Anthony is prepping for Saturday morning.

Friday's Game 2*

Drake -2.5 vs Iowa. Just to solidify there year, they will go to Iowa and beat a middle of the pack Big 10 team on the road!

Marquette over Sac. State
West Virginia over Maryland Baltimore-County (probably no line)
Texas over Texas San Marcos (probably no line)
Memphis over Middle Tenesse
VCU over Longwood
UCLA over Idaho St
Arkansas Little Rock over Florida International

Dogs or surprise Winners:

UAB over Kentucky
Texas Tech over New Mexico

Warming Up Wednesday

As we get into league play, it appears that most games will be Thursday through Saturday, because, I guess these kids need to go to class Monday through Wednesday. We will follow this closely as we get past the first semester finals. There are so many freshman and sophomores who will be pro next year, that their teams will excel in the second semester when they can start working out all day and not worry about class work.

There are a few major mismatches out there in the traditional city rivalry games. I am looking for some home teams to get healthy going into league.

Boston College -4.5 vs UMass. This is a talented ACC team that will punish their crosstown rival. Again, my man Tyrese Rice will carry the load! 2*

Xavier -19.5 vs Cincinatti. This is not the Cinci of old. They are 0-6 ATS this year, and looking at their upcoming schedule and league play, they could be 5-26 this year. If they haven't thrown in the towel yet, it will happen soon. They opened this year with a 10 point loss at home to Belmont, and it has gotten worse from there! 2*

Surprise Play 2*
Ohio +8 vs Maryland. This line opened at +9.5 and the smart money is moving it. Ohio is 5-0 ATS this year and a solid experienced team. They will keep this a single digit game. Maryland does not have the capable big men this year to blow this team out.

There must be a trick here, but I am still forced to make this play.

Vanderbilt -3 vs Depaul. Vandy is looking to start the season 10-0. Depaul did a great job to not lose by 20 to Kansas their last time out. This Vandy team has a mountain of confidence after last years finish and this years start, they win this game outright, and a great free-throwing team will always cover 3 points! 2*

Slim Pickins

Something tells me the NCAA Hoops is about to take off, because Monday and Tuesday have been a very slim selection of games.

Money has turned me on to the great Basketball Ranking system of Ken Pomeroy, and if you use this site wisely you can find his rankings. His system seems to be quite adept at finding easy covers, which is really the most important part of the game!

A few winners:

(If you can find a line on this one)
Yale -2 vs Boston University. Yale is a solid team this year, and clearly the stronger team playing at home. The Ivy league bias will keep this line low, but they win and cover!

St. Mary's +4.5 vs Southern Illinois. This is a tough road game, but this is not the same Salukis! The Gaels will blow into town with little or no fear, and this win will solidify there #24 ranking. They could break the top 20 by next Monday!

Bradley -2 vs Wright St. Wright State was good to us last week, upsetting Butler. However, this will be a letdown game as it has no league implications. The Missouri Valley teams don't want to let the Horizon League challenge them for the best Mid-Major Conference title!

A few more Hoops!

Money is adding valuable advice to B. Anthony. He was able to provide all 5 winners yesterday, hopefully someone is watching!

Only a couple out there today.

Washington state -20 vs Portland State. Another defensive clinic!

Kansas State -2.5 vs Cal. I would like to cheer for Cal, but this is their first road game at a hostile environment. It is time for a reality check.
